Given that Philosophy is the attitude of life that allows the search for the principles that govern important phenomena and that the study of Philosophy and its methods affects the understanding and management of the two “Fundamental Conditions” that define our lives, namely joy and pain, the association aims to cultivate, promote and disseminate a philosophical view of life, that is, the search for Scientific Truth, Aesthetic Beauty and Ethical Good. The promotion and dissemination of both theoretical and relevant practical philosophical studies, the study of the philosophy of science which is valuable not only for understanding the fundamental concepts of science, but also for promoting an interdisciplinary approach. The study of the philosophy of History which is useful for the understanding of humanism. The study of the philosophy of art which is vital for a deeper appreciation of the Arts. The comparative study and analysis of global, timeless traditional philosophical ideas and theories and in general the main purpose of the Association is to provide a simplified approach and understanding of philosophy (aesthetics, ethics), which will improve the quality of life of the individual with the ultimate goal bliss.
The Hellenic Philosophy Forum was established in March 2020 as an ongoing discussion between renowned professors of philosophy, science, and entrepreneurship whose views are shaped by the ideas and achievements of the ancient Greeks and their intellectual descendants.
We believe exploring history critically gives us actionable knowledge to create a new world.
How can the basic knowledge of philosophy and history help humans come to respect every living organism on earth — and each other?
How can we become more compassionate to those different to us?
Can ancient thinkers like Hercalitus (“all are one”), Socrates (“know thyself”), and Epictetus (“only the educated are free”) guide us to a virtuous life?
The Hellenic Philosophy Forum was created from these roots to become a mighty tree that will stand for generations to come.
All the speakers, presenters and authors of the Hellenic Philosophy Forum are volunteers and not paid.
